VERDICT

The Medela Swing Single Electric Breast Pump is perfect for those who pump one to two times a day to relieve engorgement, build a slow stash, or increase your supply. It has many features that make it an ideal and worthwhile purchase.

Medela Swing Single Electric Breast Pump

Compact and lightweight Breast Pump

If you are heading out of the house and will need to pump somewhere other than the comfort of your own couch, the size of the Medela Swing Single Electric Breast Pump is wonderful! It really can fit well inside your purse (remember when your purse was just a fancy way of toting around your wallet, keys, and phone?! Now that you’re a mama it’s ridiculous what gets stashed with you everywhere you go!)

Stimulation mode

This mode helps get the milk moving and mimics the suckling that your sweet pea does to let your milk ducts know that it’s time to flow! It’s a gentle and effective way to help maximize your milk expression.

Suction control

After your milk ducts have been stimulated, you can choose a suction setting that feels comfortable to you. This ensures you are expressing as much milk as possible while maintaining comfort while you breast pump. It’s also handy when you want to control the amount of milk being expressed for times when you don’t want to completely empty your breasts.

Belt clip and neck strap

This feature is essential when you are pumping and attempting to do anything else while pumping. I love that you can clip the battery pack on and move around a bit because as you know, the times when you have ‘nothing’ to do have virtually disappeared since your little one arrived.

Bottle stand

The Medela Swing Single Electric Breast Pump comes with a very convenient bottle stand so you can set the bottle on a table and pump rather than holding it. I would recommend only ‘light’ tabletop pumping since you need to keep your suction up.

Carrying pouch

This breast pump comes with a little drawstring pouch to keep everything together which is handy. I like to toss a clean washcloth or small towel in with mine just in case there’s any excess moisture from sanitizing my parts.
